Pork chops are a god-send.

I know they might not taste as amazing as fancier cuts of meat but they’re absolutely perfect for a cheap protein meal I think. They require zero skill to cook as well and they only cost me $5 for two inch-thick pieces. Enough for two meals.

I went off a recipe I found online but basically all I did to cook them was add spices , rub a bit of olive oil on them, and bake them at 400° for 7 minutes for every half-inch of thickness. My pork chop was an inch thick so I baked them for 14 minutes. That’s it. They came out slightly pink which I prefer but just add another minute or two if you don’t like pink meat. A meat thermometer helps a lot if you’re worried about internal temps but isn’t required because of how basic it is to cook.

For context, I have absolutely no cooking skills except for fast food work and they came out pretty great I felt. The fact that they’re so cheap means you can experiment with different spices and sauces too. Would highly recommend trying them out next time you buy groceries.
